Membership

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

MCI welcomes membership applications from all individuals and entities engaged in commercial activities from various industries, such as tourism and hospitality, fisheries and fish processing, construction and real estate, wholesale and retail trading, transport, logistics, and communication as well as financial services and banking. However, membership is contingent upon acceptance of the MCI’s Articles of Association and administrative procedures.

Categories of Membership

Corporate Members – Large companies, resort operators, and industrial players.
SME Members – Small and medium enterprises.
Sectoral Associations – e.g., Boating Association, Contractors’ Association.
Affiliate/Associate Members – International partners, NGOs, and training institutes.

Membership Requirements

Registered business in the Maldives.
Compliance with national laws and MIC’s Code of Ethics.
Annual membership fee.

Governance & Committees

Executive Board – Elected from main industry segments (e.g., Tourism, Construction, Logistics, Fisheries, Manufacturing, ICT, Agriculture, Energy, Retail, Professional Services).

Sector Committees – Each sector will have its own working group.

Advisory Council – Industry experts, economists, and policy advisors.

Committees will:

Draft industry position papers.
Engage with ministries on sector-specific issues.
Propose reforms and monitor implementation.
